PAINT PARTY PACKAGES OPTIONS?

We offer an onsite, in-person service in Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles counties. Our main events are designed specifically for either adults or kids, with different service times and paintings for each group. We work with families, friends, and businesses to create memorable experiences. You can book a paint party for anywhere from 1 to 50 people under our "Book a Party" tab. For larger groups, we also offer paint parties—contact us for more details!

WHAT ARE WE ABLE TO PAINT?

We have a Gallery of Paintings to choose from, or if you're looking for something special, we’re happy to create a custom piece for you for just $100. We also offer a “Paint Your Pet” event, with different pricing and processes—please check out our information page for details and feel free to contact us with any additional questions!

WHEN DO I NEED TO SELECT MY PAINTING?

We ask that you select your painting at least seven days before your event. If you are working with us on a custom image, we kindly request that it be finalized at least ten days before the event.

WHAT IF I WANT TO ATTEND (AND PAINT), BUT WANT TO DO MY OWN ARTWORK?

Not only do we promote that kind of creativity, but we also strongly encourage it! No one should be told what they can and can’t paint—that defeats the whole purpose of letting loose and embracing your creative, free-spirited self! As long as you're happy, we're happy!

WHAT IF I’VE NEVER PAINTED BEFORE?

That’s fantastic! We love welcoming new artists. Calm Canvas is all about helping you step outside your comfort zone and discover your creative side—even if you don’t think you have one! You’re not alone—many of our guests haven’t picked up a paintbrush since grade school (or ever!). But don’t worry—our instructor will guide you through the process step by step and provide one-on-one support if needed. Plus, painting isn’t just about creating art—it’s a relaxing and therapeutic experience that allows you to unwind, let go of stress, and enjoy the present moment. So, leave any self-doubt at the door, take a deep breath, and get ready to surprise yourself. We promise—you’re in great hands! HOW DO I BOOK MY PRIVATE PAINT PARTY EVENT?

Adult events require a $390 deposit to hold the event date. Therapeutic art events (our most popular) require a $495 deposit, and kids' parties require a $350 deposit.
Deposits can be paid online through credit card.

WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS AND WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

We accept credit card, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, and direct deposit (ACH). Please note: credit card and PayPal payments carry an additional 3% processing fee. Our cancellation and refund policy is as follows:

  • Cancellations, including no-shows, within 72 hours (3 days) of the event: Not refundable. This applies to both event and guest cancellations.
  • Cancellations 3–13 days before the event: We can refund the balance but will hold the deposit. The amounts paid will be held and applied toward a future event.
  • Cancellations 14 or more days before the event: All payments are refundable, minus a $100 administrative fee.

CAN I COMBINE DISCOUNTS OR PROMOTIONAL OFFERS?

We understand that you want to get the best possible deal! Unfortunately, promotional offers and discounts cannot be combined. However, we will honor whichever discount is greater.

WHEN IS MY FINAL BALANCE DUE?

The final headcount and remaining balance are due 48 hours before your scheduled event. Your deposit payment will be applied toward the final balance, and we’ll be sure to send you a reminder about your final payment.

DO YOU HAVE A STUDIO WE CAN COME TO?

We are a mobile service and do not have a physical studio. However, wherever you choose to hold your event will be transformed into your very own art studio!

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK MY PARTY?

Calm Canvas is a two-person small business and is regularly booked on weekends. The sooner you book and pay the deposit, the better your chances of securing your desired private party date. We want every event to be special, so please provide as much advance notice as possible to increase the likelihood of getting your perfect date and time.

DO YOU BOOK KIDS PARTIES?

We sure do! Kids’ painting parties are recommended for ages 6 and up. If your budding artist is 14 or older, we consider them ready for adult painting options. For children's parties, at least one adult is required for supervision. We also recommend choosing an easier painting for younger kids—check out our Kids Painting Gallery for ideas. We're sorry, but we don’t handle food or drinks. However, if you need recommendations, we’re happy to help!

WHERE CAN WE HOST OUR PRIVATE PRIVATE AND SIP PARTY?

Your location, your choice!
Your backyard, favorite park, restaurant—wherever you’d like your paint studio to be!
Whether indoors or outdoors, we just ask that there’s good lighting and enough shade to keep your guests comfortable.

HOW MANY ARTISTS CAN FIT AT A TABLE?

If you're using standard rectangular folding tables, you can typically fit 6-7 adults or 7-8 children per table. If you have any concerns, feel free to send us pictures of your tables and chairs, and we’ll be happy to guide you!

HOW DOES SETUP AND CLEAN UP WORK?

We will arrive early to set up, usually 30-60 minutes before the event. Please have the tables and chairs set up at least 2 hours before your party start time.

After the event, we’ll take care of cleaning up the mobile art studio, which typically takes about 30-45 minutes.

CAN WE PAINT WHILE WE EAT?

To avoid overtime charges and ensure your guests have enough time to complete their artwork, we will start on time. Small snacks and drinks are great to have while painting, but larger meals should be enjoyed before or after the event.

WHAT’S THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM # OF PAINTERS?

There is a party minimum, not a painter minimum.

Kids Painting Parties:
  • Base Price: $350 (Includes 9 artists)
Additional Painters:
  • 10-19 painters – $35 per painter
  • 20-30 painters – $32 per painter

We recommend keeping kids' parties to 30 painters or fewer. If you're looking for a larger event, let's collaborate to create something amazing! Other fees may apply.

Adult Painting Parties:
  • Base Price: $390 (Includes 9 artists)

  • 15-19 painters – $35 per painter

Therapeutic Art Painting Parties:

WHAT IF MY PARTY STARTS LATE OR ENDS LATE

We understand that sometimes life happens! We recommend asking your guests to arrive 30 minutes before the start of the painting event—more if you plan to eat beforehand (Pro tip: Plan to eat after the event). We take pride in starting on time and will end instruction at the scheduled event end time. If a delay happens on our end, there will be no additional charges. However, if the painting event starts or ends late due to guest delays, a fee of $50 per 30 minutes (or a portion thereof) will be applied, as this may impact other scheduled events.
